About Bell Jar

There is so much uncertainty in the world and I’m here to guide people through the chaos. The two specific areas I’ve chosen to explore to help people with are Death and Relationships. After all, death is inevitable, and relationships are what make life more enriching and bearable. I’m here to facilitate finding your peace without giving you an answer or feeding you an ideology.

As a mental health counselor by training, I have noticed that many sessions center around death and existential concepts even when people are coming to sessions for very different reasons and goals. As a Western society we don’t tend to address this inevitable certainty in life - mainly due to fear and discomfort. Why not face it head-on and work to attenuate the fears and dread associated with death?

I’ve also worked with many different relationships in a clinical counseling setting that truly don’t need counseling and instead need relationship coaching - where present-day relationship dynamics are examined and tweaked to assist couples in working together in more productive ways.

About EVE

Mental Health Counselor by day, Death and Relationship Coach by night.

After receiving a BA in Psychology from the University of Hartford, I worked as a program coordinator for the Department of Academic and Research Integrity at Harvard Medical School, and volunteered my nights as a research assistant at a social science laboratory at Harvard’s Cambridge campus. Four years into this endeavor, I had a brief identity crisis and temporary foray into computer engineering and programming before switching gears. I went to Plymouth State University for Mental Health Counseling and have been a practicing counselor since 2018. I have also worked as an Academic Coach at the University level. In July of 2024, I received my Death Doula Certification from the University of Vermont.

When I’m not working, I’m in the woods with my dogs, collecting plants, or needlessly rearranging things in my home.

My Approach

It all begins and ends with the inevitable, overall concept of non-existence in this physical realm. I use this definition as a way to respect all spiritual and religious ideologies. The work I do with Clients can be spiritual at times but I do not follow any particular religious ideologies, nor do I impart such bias on my Clients. However, I am more than happy to accommodate your beliefs, especially with regard to any End of Life Services. While working with me, you will encounter compassion and enthusiasm, coupled with dark, dry humor.

Coaching vs. counseling

Please note that Coaching is not a replacement for Mental Health Counseling and the services being provided through The Bell Jar, LLC are NOT mental health counseling, psychotherapy, or the exploration of individual pathology nor are they a replacement for these services. Additionally, no diagnoses are given, no treatment plans are involved, and instead, the focus is on intentional discussion, skill building, and achieving small measurable goals on the journey to enhanced personal growth.
